Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 kg octopus cleaned and cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 medium onions chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 400 g canned tomatoes crushed
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Stir in the octopus pieces and cook for about 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the red wine and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, cinnamon, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  6. Cover and let it cook on low heat for about 1.5 to 2 hours, until the octopus is tender.
  7. Remove bay leaves before serving.
