Ingredients
  

Pears
  • 4 pieces ripe pears Peeled and cored
Red Wine Mixture
  • 1 cup red wine Any dry red wine
  • 1 cup sugar For poaching
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 stick cinnamon For flavor
Pastry
  • 1 sheet puff pastry Thawed if frozen

Method
 

Prepare the Pears
  1. Peel and core the pears, then set aside.
Poach the Pears
  1. In a skillet, combine red wine, sugar, water, and cinnamon. Bring to a simmer.
  2. Add the pears and poach for about 20 minutes until tender.
Assemble the Tarte
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the poached pears in a skillet, cover with puff pastry, and tuck edges in.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Let cool slightly before inverting onto a plate.
