Imeruli Khachapuri

Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
Filling
  • 1 cup feta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1 large egg for topping

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil, and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Prepare the Filling
  1. In a bowl, mix feta and mozzarella cheese together.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each into a circle.
  3. Place cheese filling in the center of each circle and fold the edges over the filling.
  4. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Remove from oven and brush with beaten egg for a glossy finish.
