Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine vital wheat gluten, nutritional yeast, basil, oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together vegetable broth and olive oil. Gradually pour into the dry ingredients while stirring.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until elastic.
  4. Divide the dough into six equal portions and shape into sausages. Wrap each tightly in aluminum foil.
  5. Steam sausages for about 30 minutes until firm.
  6. Remove from foil and sear in a hot skillet with olive oil until golden brown on all sides.
