With simple ingredients and straightforward steps, you can easily recreate this cheesy goodness at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or paneer)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, sugar, salt, and yogurt. Gradually add warm water while stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  3. Once risen, punch down the dough and divide into equal portions. Roll each piece into a ball and flatten slightly.
  4. Place shredded cheese in the center of each piece, fold the edges over to seal, then roll out gently to about half an inch thick.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat without oil; cook each naan for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown. Brush with melted butter mixed with minced garlic after cooking.
